Day One — Thursday 27th March 2025

  • Arrive by train and be picked up from Runcorn Station.

  • Settle into the refined comfort of your private bedroom and ensuite at Knowsley Hall.

  • Relax with afternoon tea in the Morning Room.

  • Later, enjoy champagne in the Walnut Room, where the Countess of Derby will introduce you to the world of the remarkable Stanley Women and their legacy.

  • Conclude your first evening with a delicious candlelit dinner

  • in the grandeur of the State Dining Room.

  • The chef at Knowsley Hall will curate a light and healthy fine dining experience, tailored to your preferences. All dietary requirements can be accommodated with one week’s notice, and special requests will be seamlessly integrated into the menu.


Day Two — Friday 28th March 2025

  • Arrive by train and be picked up from Runcorn Station.

  • Settle into the refined comfort of your private bedroom and ensuite at Knowsley Hall.

  • Start your day with Yoga or Pilates, followed by a refreshing 

  • morning walk, run, or cycle around the estate.

  • After brunch, visit the renowned Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool with a private guide, followed by a windswept walk on Crosby Beach, home to Antony Gormley’s striking statues.

  • End your day with a candlelit dinner in the State Dining Room, while the Countess shares fascinating stories of the Earls & Countesses of Derby, spanning over six centuries.


Day Three — Saturday 29th March 2025 

a day of history & adventure

  • Enjoy a morning tour of Knowsley Hall led by Dr. Stephen Lloyd, curator of The Derby Collection.

  • Visit the Shakespeare North Playhouse for a glimpse into Elizabethan theatre.

  • Stroll or cycle around the estate’s perimeter, encountering the exotic wildlife of Knowsley Safari Park.

  • In the evening, enjoy cocktails or mocktails while the Countess of Derby discusses her latest book on the travels of the 14th Earl of Derby.

  • Celebrate Mother’s Day with a grand banquet in the State Dining Room, surrounded by family and friends. 


Day Three — Saturday 29th March 2025 

fitness & wellness retreat

  • Begin your day with Yoga, Pilates, and a healthy breakfast.

  • Participate in activities of your choice, from wild swimming to paddleboarding, or treat yourself to a bespoke spa session, complete with massages, facials, and beauty treatments. 

Departure

  • Conclude your weekend with a special tea box for the train journey home, filled with delicacies from the estate.
